Every business
moves in seasons.

Six Seasons Advisors is the practice of Binod Shrestha, MD, MBA — an emergency and critical care physician who helped build a digital health company through to acquisition, then bought two small businesses and runs them today. Advice from someone who operates, not just advises.

The approach

A year has six seasons.
So does a business.

In the calendar I grew up with in Nepal, the year turns through six seasons, not four — including the monsoon, when everything arrives at once. Businesses move the same way. Most advisors know one season well. I've operated through all six, and the work changes with each one.

Season 1 · Validation

Basanta — spring, first light

The idea is alive but unproven.

  • Product–market fit and voice-of-customer research
  • Market sizing and early business model design
  • Clinical problem validation with the people who feel it

Season 2 · Launch

Grishma — summer, heat

Time to commit and go to market.

  • Go-to-market strategy and positioning
  • Pricing and ROI models buyers believe
  • Launch playbooks and the first reference customers

Season 3 · Growth

Barsha — monsoon, the downpour

Everything happens at once.

  • Pipeline, partnerships, and channel development
  • Implementation at scale without drowning the team
  • An operating rhythm for when demand outruns process

Season 4 · Evidence

Sharad — autumn, clear skies

Prove what you built.

  • Medical affairs: KOLs, advisory boards, congresses
  • Studies, registries, and publications that compound
  • Turning outcomes into credibility — and sales

Season 5 · Transition

Hemanta — pre-winter, the turn

Ownership changes hands.

  • Acquisition evaluation and due diligence
  • Deal support for buyers and sellers
  • Transition planning and the first hundred days

Season 6 · Stewardship

Shishir — winter, quiet work

The discipline nobody sees.

  • Finance rhythm, dashboards, and close discipline
  • Systems, staffing, and process that hold
  • The steady operations that make spring possible

About

A jack of all trades — on purpose.

For nine years I helped build a venture-backed clinical decision support company — from first customer through acquisition — leading business development, strategic marketing, and medical affairs. Partnerships, pricing, health system sales, evidence: the full commercial engine. The medicine came first — emergency and critical care in Kathmandu, then trauma research in the Texas Medical Center — and it still opens doors. But the last decade has been about one thing: making businesses work.

In 2024 I did something most consultants never do: I bought a business. Then another. I now run two owner-operated companies in Houston — hiring, pricing, payroll, leases, insurance, the works. That's the difference in the advice. Every recommendation I make is one I'd have to live with myself.

The generalist path has been the point all along. I've sat in the clinic, the lab, the boardroom, and behind the register — and businesses don't have department-shaped problems. They have seasons.

Ways to work together

Three shapes of engagement.

Every engagement is scoped in a conversation first. No hourly meters running — just a clear shape, a clear fee, and an operator on your side.

Advisory retainer

A standing monthly relationship: scheduled working sessions, async access in between, and a thinking partner who knows your business cold.

Best for owners and founders who want steady judgment in their corner.

Fractional engagement

A part-time seat on your team — roughly a day a week as your medical affairs lead, commercial lead, or operating partner.

Best for companies that need the function before they can justify the full-time hire.

Project sprint

Fixed scope, fixed fee, real deadline: a go-to-market strategy, a diligence review, a commercialization roadmap — delivered in four to eight weeks.

Best for a decision that needs an answer, not a relationship yet.

Single-day workshops, advisory board facilitation, and expert consultations are also available.
